based Al-Watan newspaper said "At a time when the Arabs never hesitate in accepting any proposal pertaining to peace, Israel has been practicing its provocative policy. What happened yesterday as regards demolishing mosques and shelling Palestinian fishermen, confirm the fact that Israel only knows how to respond negatively and irrationally to peace overtures and proposals welcomed by the international community and in particular their endorsement by the U.S. mediator," said the daily. "Some may view the Israeli provocative measures as a prelude for starting serious negotiations under the American patronage to review the roots of the problem, while some others may view the matter as an expression of despair, but actually these provocative measures constitute an Israeli plan to overtake the remaining land. Passage of more than 60 years without resolving the problem will encourage Israel to go ahead on its well-known policy of procrastinations as long as there is no party which is capable of deterring the Zionist state," the daily added.
