Oil prices slipped below $84 a barrel Tuesday in Asia, the Associated Press reported. Benchmark crude for May delivery was down 77 cents to $83.43 a barrel at late afternoon Singapore time in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract fell 92 cents to settle at $84.20 on Monday. In other Nymex trading in May contracts, heating oil fell 0.94 cent to $2.228 a gallon, and gasoline dropped 0.72 cent to $2.334 a gallon. Natural gas skidded 2.2 cents to $4.240 per 1,000 cubic feet. In London, Brent crude was down 56 cents at $86.27 on the ICE futures exchange.
