A decision over when and how much financial aid will be given to deficit-stricken Greece will come after ten days at the earliest, dpa qouted German Economy Minister Rainer Bruederle as saying on Saturday. Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou on Friday formally requested the activation of a 45-billion-euro (60-billion-dollar) aid package from the members of the eurozone and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Greece must repay some 8.5 billion euros in loans by May 19, and is currently negotiating a new budget cuts plan with the IMF. Without the aid, Greece will not be able to make the loan repayments. Chancellor Angela Merkel said Friday that no aid package could be agreed before the cuts were approved by the IMF, the European Central Bank, and the European Commission. -- SPA
