Icelandic authorities closed two airports near the capital Reykjavik on Friday over volcanic ash from a volcano that erupted last week, according to dpa. The ash cloud from the volcano under the Eyjafjallajoekull glacier in southern Iceland last week caused major disruptions in Europe but as of Thursday most air traffic in European airspace was back to normal. Changes in the wind have blown the ash cloud towards Reykjavik, prompting a decision to close down Keflavik International Airport and Reykjavik International Airport, Icelandic aviation officials said. Two other international airports in Iceland were to remain open.
