Only about 30 percent of the normal number of flights will operate in Europe on Monday because of the spread of volcanic ash from Iceland, the European aviation control agency Eurocontrol said. Eurocontrol said in a statement it expected 8,000 to 9,000 flights to take place, compared with about 28,000 that would normally be expected. On Saturday and Sunday, more than 75 percent of flights did not run, Reuters reported.
