German air traffic control says it is slightly loosening its ban on flights in the country, AP reported. The air traffic control agency said flights from Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover, Erfurt and Leipzig would be allowed until 8 p.m. (1800 GMT) Sunday _ but only some planes headed eastward. The agency said there was currently no ash contamination in the region. All other German airports _ including the busy Frankfurt hub and Munich _ remain closed until at least 1800 GMT. It wasn't immediately clear how many flights might be able to depart. Air Berlin and Lufthansa already have canceled all flights until at least that time. -- SPA
