Syrian Health Minister Dr Rida Saeed has expressed appreciation for the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for the treatment of the Syrian child: Sara and separating her from her parasitic twin. The separation surgery was conducted recently at King Abdulaziz National Guard Medical City. The operation was conducted in about seven hours. "We have been accustomed to such kind gestures from King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz," said the Syrian minister, highlighting the existing fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Syria. He pointed out that the separation operation was conducted by Saudi physicians under the leadership of Health Minister Dr Abdullah Al-Rabia, adding that the operation has reflected the bright face of the health services in the Kingdom. The Syrian minister described as "deep-rooted and very close" the Saudi-Syrian cooperation in the health sector. He said Dr Al-Rabia is keen on developing further bilateral cooperation in the field of health services. On his part, Syrian ambassador to the Kingdom Dr Mehdi Al-Dakhl-Allah praised King Abdullah's humanitarian gesture, and said the operation constitutes a great achievement in the field of such operations.
