Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan, the President of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, opened here on Sunday evening the 9th SABIC meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abdul-Rahman Al-Obaid, SABIC's deputy executive president for research and technology, said the meeting aims at enhancing technical innovation and exchanging knowledge and expertise among local and international companies. He noted that the meeting will provide an opportunity to the Saudi youth to present scientific working papers. On his part, Prince Saud bin Thunayan said when SABIC was established in 1396 H (1976) it aimed at transference of the most sophisticated international technology. SABIC is planning to become an international pioneering company in the field of chemicals, and its strategy is based on scientific research and technological development based on innovation in all operational, productive, developmental and administrative domains, he said. --MORE
