Thai soldiers have moved in to force protestors out of an area in old Bangkok they have occupied since March 12, the German Press Agency "DPA" reported. DPA quoted photographers and witnesses at the scene as saying Saturday that the Soldiers entered the Phan Fa Bridge area in the afternoon, and demonstrators were resisting the order to move. Troops used water cannon to push back protestors who were reportedly trying to break into an army base near Phan Fa Bridge, television stations reported. The confrontation took place at about 1 pm local time (0600 GMT). Soldiers were also stationed near the Ratchaprasong intersection in the commercial centre of Bangkok where protestors have been gathered for more than a week. However, the soldiers had not yet started to move in on the protestors.
