The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) has achieved great successes through its general plan exceeding its planning since its establishment in 1975 by increasing its industrial complexes from 9 to 32. The 9th edition of Magazine of Jabeen Industry and Economy issued by the Commission said that the Commission increased its production from 63.2 million tons to 103 million tons and hiked investments from SR 34.8 billion to SR 533 billion in 2009, noting that the investments of the private sector increased in the cities of Jubail and Yanbu from SR 53 billion in 1414H to SR 431 billion in 1430H. It indicated that the number of employees in the two cities increased from 96,000 in 1423H to 138,387 in 1430H.
