Japanese Finance Minister Naoto Kan said Saturday he did not urge Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to revalue the Chinese currency, the yuan, during talks in Beijing, according to dpa. "I did not tell him what (China) should do," Kan was quoted by Japanese media as saying. "I told him that I expected China to make a wise judgment" on the currency issue. Kan, making his first visit to Japan's largest trading partner as finance chief, said he did not discuss the currency issue when he met his Chinese counterpart Xie Xuren earlier Saturday. Meanwhile, Japan and China agreed to continue cooperation to ensure economic recovery, the two nations said in a joint statement issued after their their talks, Kyodo News reported.
