Former Czech foreign minister Prince Karel Schwarzenberg offered a unique argument Saturday for why he is immune to corruption - because he is rich, dpa reported. In remarks to the daily Mlada front Dnes newspaper, the prince noted that he owned five castles, more than two dozen apartment houses and several other pieces of real estate. This wealth was a guarantee for his incorruptibility, said Schwarzenberg, who had been a political ally of former president Vaclav Havel. The remarks came as the newspaper reported on results of a survey of all the political parties vying in the upcoming May 28-29 parliamentary elections. The paper said that Schwarzenberg, head of the new conservative Top 09 party, is by far the wealthiest of the Czech Republic's party leaders. -- SPA
