Visiting Saudi Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf met here today with Turkey's Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Later, he held talks with Deputy Premier and Minister of State in charge of Economic Affairs Ali Babajan and Minister of Finance Mohamet Shemishk. During the meeting, which took place yesterday, economic situations in the two countries and ways of enhancing commercial relations between them were reviewed. The two sides, who share a joint committee and membership of the Organization of Islamic Conference, agreed to upgrade the level of trade and investments between the two countries and open new horizons for cooperation, particularly in the sectors of tourism, agriculture, construction and railways. They are also set to discuss a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of customs cooperation. The two sides also evaluated the situations of the world economy in the aftermath of the international financial crisis and the role of each country as member of the G-20.
