based Al-Watan said the anniversary comes at a time when the Palestinian factions have failed to reach an agreement, and Israel has been going ahead on building settlements on the Palestinian territories while the sponsor of peace is incapable of doing anything towards the Israeli arrogance. Realizing the importance of the developments in the Palestinian arena, the Arab leaders who gathered in the Libyan city of Sirte on Saturday and Sunday put the issue of al-Quds on the top of the agenda of their summit, said the daily, adding that the Arab summit has confirmed that the Arab peace initiative is still on the table, and the initiative included the pledge of the Arabs to carry out all commitments pertaining to the settlement provided that the Israeli side honors its commitments.
