The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) has urged for addressing the issue of water quality as well as raising its profile in key issues related to pollution, prevention, clean up and restoration. "We need to recognize that our future depends on the collective and effective management of our precious and scarce water resources, " said the Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu in a message while observing the World Water Day on March 22. "On this occasion, I urge governments, local authorities, civil society, the private sector, individuals and all stakeholders in the OIC Member States and around the world to coordinate their efforts and cooperate in a proactive and efficient manner in order to address the issue of water quality," he added. --MORE
