A delegation from UNESCO will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday in response to an invitation from Minister of Education and Head of the national committee for education, culture and sciences Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Saud. The delegation will be led by Director General of UNESCO Irina Bokova. It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom became a member of UNESCO's Executive Council in 2007 for a period of four years. It is currently represented at the Executive Council by Faisal bin Muammar, the Deputy Education Minister. The 58-member Executive Council works as the Board of Directors of UNESCO in line with the constituent convention of the organization's general conference.
