The Minister of Culture and Information, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said that the great development being witnessed by information sector and its advanced technology can not replace its missions; mainly its values and contents sought by the pioneers of this industry so that the media express public opinions and become the mouthpiece of masses who seek justice, right and equality. In the 3rd annual meeting of media personnel organized by the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Dammam on Sunday, Dr. Khoja stressed the importance of recognizing the value of the word, its responsibility and danger, recalling the address of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at Majlis Al-Shura in which he had called for not using the word in settling accounts and finger-pointing. The minister noted that the press has become a significant supervisory authority and the profession of journalism has become respectable. Dr. Khoja thanked the Chamber for its initiative for organizing this meeting as a contribution to the consolidation of the positions of journalists and their roles in the society. On his part, the Chairman of the Chamber's Board of Directors Abdulrahman bin Rashed Al-Rashed announced in his speech the launch of Economic Information Forum next December.
