Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education will organize the Second Saudi Forum on Dialogue of Civilizations in partnership with the Paris-based Sorbonne University in the French capital on March 15-16, 2010. A number of distinguished academicians and researchers from the Saudi and French universities will participate in the Forum. In a press statement, Dr Khaled Al-Anqari, the Minister of Higher Education, underscored the importance of dialogue among nations, adding that the symposium will develop and deepen means of promoting dialogue. The participants of the Forum will review various issues pertaining to dialogue of civilizations including the concept of civilizations conflict. Moreover, the Saudi academicians will exchange views with their French counterparts on issues pertaining to the Islamic economy. They will also review the importance of culture and identity based on divine religions.
