India and Russia signed an agreement today providing a road map for serial construction of Russian-built nuclear reactors in India, according to dpa. An agreement on cooperation on peaceful uses of atomic energy was among five pacts signed in the presence of visiting Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and his Indian counterpart, Manmohan Singh. Another deal worth 1.5 billion dollars under which Russia would provide 29 MiG-29K fighter aircraft for India's Navy was sealed during the visit, the director general of the MiG group, Mikhail Pogossyan, was quoted as saying by Russian news agencies. Singh said his talks with Putin were comprehensive and covered bilateral, regional and global issues. Putin said the two sides had discussed cooperation in relation to Afghanistan. Both leaders stressed the reliable strategic partnership shared by the two countries.
