The Shoura Council held here today a session presided over by chairman of the council Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al Alsheikh. During the session, the council hailed the care accorded to the council by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The chairman of the council expressed the council's appreciation for the king's visit to the council and opening of the deliberations of the second year of the fifth session yesterday and the important contents of the king's address which the council will work to activate through its performance during the second year of its fifth session. The chairman of the council said that in his address, the king focused on national unity, solidarity and cooperation to achieve more accomplishments in various fields. The chairman highlighted the areas which the king stressed in his speech. In a statement following the session, Secretary General of the council Dr. Mohammad bin Abdullah Alghamdi said the chairman of the council called for adopting the themes of the king's speech as programs of work for the council's committees. The council will also discuss the contents of the speech in its coming session. Also during the session, council approved a draft memorandum of cooperation between the Saudi Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution and the Korean Bureau of Prosecutor General and a request by Saudi Arabia's Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization to join the International Bureau of Weights and Measures through joining the Metre Convention.
