Prince Misha'al bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Jeddah, inaugurated here on Sunday evening 7th Cultural and Scientific Week of Universities and Higher Education Institutions in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, hosted by the Jeddah-based King Abdulaziz University. The Dean of Student Affairs at King Abdulaziz University Dr. Abdullah Mahraji, who is also Chairman of the Week's Organizing Committee, pointed out that 600 students representing 27 universities and institutions of higher education in the GCC states are participating in the Week which also includes 22 cultural and artistic competitions and works. On his part, the University's Rector Dr. Osama bin Sadeq Tayyib said in his speech that the Week embodies the ties of brotherhood binding the GCC peoples, which the GCC leaders have been keen on their enhancement. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
