Naimi met with Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the situations in the world oil markets and discussed cooperation between the two countries pertaining to petroleum and mineral resources and ways of their enhancement. The meetings were attended by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Advisor to Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Abdulkarim; President of Saudi Aramco and Chief Executive Officer Khalid Al-Faleh; Saudi Ambassador to India Faisal Trad; President of Maaden Company Dr. Abdullah Al-Dabbagh; Advisors at Office of Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Dr. Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Muhanna and Dr. Ahmed Ghabboush Al-Ghamdi; Principal Secretary to Indian Prime Minister T. K. A. Nair; and Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Talmiz Ahmad. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the meetings, Al-Naimi expressed his pleasure over meeting the Indian Prime Minister and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, noting that many issues were discussed in the fields of petroleum and mining. He affirmed close relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and India.
