Spain's Interior Minister is warning of the arrival of hurricane-strength winds and heavy rainfall in the north of the country, AP reported. Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba warned people Saturday not to avoid going outdoors after the national weather agency said «a perfect storm» was on its way to the Spanish mainland. A cyclone gusting up to 118 mph (190 kph) blew over the Canary Islands overnight Friday causing lampposts to fall onto parked cars and forcing flight cancellations. The weather center issued a maximum «red alert» for the entire northern coast of Spain on Saturday. Spain's airport authority AENA said further delays and cancellations were possible and advised travelers to contact their air companies for flight information.
