The Average annual immigration to Riyadh city from other parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this year has shown a decline as compared to the previous annual averages, according to a study conducted by the Higher Commission for the Development of Riyadh. The study disclosed that 73 percent of the immigrants come to the capital city in search of job opportunities. The study noted that this year's average of the immigrants dropped to 33,000 from 75,000 in the previous years. 'This development has led to a drop in the population growth from 8 percent to 4.2 percent, said the study. The study forecast that the population of Riyadh will amount to 8,280,000 in 1450H. The study estimated that the number of jobs which should be available up to 1450 H at about 689,000, while the number of housing units at 606, 000.
