The 1st Saudi-Syrian Business Forum will be held here on March 6-7 with the participation of more than 200 leading Saudi and Syrian companies and businessmen. In a joint press conference held here on Sunday with Syrian Minister of Finance Dr. Mohammed Al-Hussein, Saudi Ambassador to Syria Abdullah Al-Eifan said that the forum will include intensive dialogue between senior officials and businessmen in the two countries as well as presentation of successful experiences of Saudi investments in Syria. He affirmed the Kingdom's keenness on improving relations with Syria in all fields, noting that the Forum and the meeting of Saudi-Syrian Financial Ministerial Committee will be an appropriate opportunity for discussing development of bilateral relations and activating the agreements signed between the two sides. The Ambassador added that political relations between Saudi Arabia and Syria are strong, firm and solid, indicating that these relations are proceeding ahead positively and increasingly. He emphasized the necessity of benefiting from the great expertise and potentialities of the two countries in terms of promoting economic relations and joint investment as well as increasing the volume of bilateral trade for the interest of the two brotherly peoples. Ambassador Al-Eifan said that he has found a great desire on the part of Saudi investors for implementing investment projects in important sectors in Syria, calling on Syrian businessmen for setting up investment projects in Saudi Arabia. On his part, the Syrian Minister of Finance said that Syria has been working on developing economic relations with Saudi Arabia to the level of political relations.
