Altaisk, February 21, 2010, SPA -- Five adults and one child were killed in a head-on crash of a Toyota Corolla and a ZIL truck in Tyva, a spokesman for the local emergencies administration said. The accident occurred early in the morning on the Kyzyl-Erzin federal highway some 20 kilometers off the village of Balgazyn, Itar-Tass quoted the spokesman as saying. According to preliminary information, the Toyota car ran off to the oncoming lane and collided into the truck parked off its side of the road. Toyota's driver and five passengers were killed on impact, the ZIL driver and passenger were intact. Among the Toyota passengers was a boy, born in 1997, who had won the republic president's prize in the national khuresh wrestling the day before. Investigation into the causes and circumstances of the accident was underway.
