Dr. Ziayd Ahmed Maimesh, The Under Secretary of the Ministry of Health for Preventive Medicine, opened here today a two-day workshop for coordinators of Tuberculosis and AIDS at Al Qasr Holiday Inn in collaboration with the W.H.O. (World Health Organization) Office in Saudi Arabia. In an address on the occasion, Dr. Maimesh said that the national program to combat tuberculosis and AIDS, has been training 90 trainees who are being coached by 15 specialized trainers under the national programs for tuberculosis, AIDS and health informatics to prepare them to lead team-works in regions and provinces to benefit all segments of society. The preventive program is one of the strongest health programs implemented by the Ministry of Health. It is primarily based on early detection of cases and provision of proper standard therapy, he added.
