US President Barack Obama met with Spanish King Juan Carlos for a private lunch Wednesday at the White House. The two leaders discussed the global economic crisis, the ongoing relief efforts in Haiti, the war in Afghanistan and climate change, and reaffirmed the "strong bonds" between the two countries, dpa quoted the White House spokesman Robert Gibbs as saying. US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos joined in the meeting.
