A woman was killed and another one was injured in the blast at the wood chemical plant in the Sverdlovsk region on Wednesday. The blast went off at 10.45 a.m. local time (08.45 a.m. Moscow time) on Wednesday, the press service of the regional emergencies department told Itar-Tass. “According to the preliminary theory, the vapors of gas concentrate exploded at shop No 2. The roof and the ceilings collapsed in the blast. A woman was killed, another one was entrapped under the debris,” the press service reported. The search-and-rescue operation is underway.
