Victims' families of Air France Flight 447 are welcoming an ambitious, long-delayed international search for the wreckage in the Atlantic depths, AP reported. John Clemes, whose brother was among the 228 people killed in the June 1 crash of the plane en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, says the search plan has «raised our hopes» that investigators can find the black box flight recorders. The search plan, involving U.S. and Norwegian ships and covering some 772 square miles (2,000 square kilometers) of sea, was shared with the families Thursday. French air accident investigation agency BEA is releasing the plan to the public later in the day. Clemes told The Associated Press «our one regret is that it took so long» to resume searching halted last summer. -- SPA
