Arabs should work towards maintaining live and direct communication between culture-affiliates to counter cultural implications of globalization on Arab countries, Bahrain's Minister of Information and Culture Sheikha Mai bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa said here on Monday. The Minister, who is participating in the 16th Casablanca Book Fair where 720 publishers from 38 countries worldwide are taking part, told KUNA that countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) adopted a policy to help cope up with globalization while maintaining their unique identities. GCC countries represented by public and private institutions are participating in cultural events held all around the world, she said, and noted that the participation itself highlighted cultural diversity; encouraged creativity and inter-cultural dialogue. Casablanca book fair, which was opened on February 12 and will be on show until February 21, is convened under the patronage of Moroccan King Mohammad VI. "It presents to Arab publishers and intellectuals a chance to exchange expertise with others," she said.
