Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Region, who opened here yesterday the 10th Jeddah Economic Forum (JEF), reaffirmed the religious, economic and geographical significance of Jeddah city, and said it has become one of the most important commercial centers at the regional and international arenas. "Thanks to Allah Almighty and thanks to the wisdom and farsightedness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Kingdom has been playing a crucial role as regards enhancing the political and economic stability in the region," he said in an address at the Forum, which is organized by the Gulf Research Center under the theme "Global Economy 2020". He noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has become a member of Group-20 due to its huge GNP (Gross National Product) and due to its significant role at the international oil market and its positive impact as regards the recovery of the world economy. --MORE
