Two soldiers were killed and four others injured after rebels attacked a military convoy a few hours after the official start of a ceasefire in the volatile province of Saada today, dpa cited a senior government official as saying. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the attack targeted a convoy carrying Deputy Interior Minister Muhammad al-Qawsi in al-Uqab district west of Saada. "A clash erupted after the rebels opened fire at the convoy," the official told the Deutsche Presse Agentur dpa. He said several rebels were injured or killed, but could not give exact figures. Clashes were also reported in the Wahban mountain in southern Saada Friday, but no casualties were reported. Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and rebel leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi announced a ceasefire midnight Thursday, the fourth truce in the five-year fighting.
