based Al-Watan lauded the new trend of Afghan President Hamid Krazai to realize political solutions for the Afghan problem, and said neither military solution nor security solution will restore security and stability in the Afghan territories. The daily pointed out that the Afghan President underlined the importance of the Saudi role in the process of the national reconciliation in Afghanistan during the conference, recently held in London, and followed his statement in this regard with his current visit to Riyadh. The paper believes that the success of the Saudi mediation depends on the readiness of the Afghan parties, the government and Taliban, to accept the mediation and the bases that govern this mediation. The daily noted that the establishment of the secured and stable Afghanistan is an essential matter for the withdrawal of the international forces from the country. The daily called on the Afghan government to formulate a national internal policy that precedes the Saudi mediation because the Kingdom has no influence on Taliban which is linked with al-Qaeda, the Kingdom's major enemy. It will be possible to build a sound Islamic policy with Taliban when it frees itself from any relations with al-Qaeda and stands aloof from any link with terrorism, said the paper, adding that the Kingdom will never become a friend of any party which has links with terrorism or with any other terror organization.
