Sectarian violence in Nigeria has left one village almost empty, with nearly 3,000 people either dead or fleeing in fear of their lives, its chief says. Umar Baza, the chief of Kuru Karama, told the U.N. Integrated Regional Information Network only four people are still living in the village. Amadu Moussa, a truck driver, said he was away that night but 10 members of his family, including his 73-year-old father, were killed, according to the United Press International (UPI). Officials estimate 400 people have been killed and 18,000 displaced.
