The Kuwaiti-French higher committee on defense cooperation concluded here Saturday its 12th session which tackled strengthening of joint cooperation between the two countries in the defense field. The committee, led by assistant chief of staff for operations and plans at the Kuwaiti army Major General Abdul Rahman Al-Othman, discussed the questions important to the two sides and the exchange of data in order to achieve the targets defined in the agreement signed between Kuwait and France in 1992. The Kuwaiti military delegation exchanged, during the committee's meetings, opinions on the international conditions and on-going efforts for developing defense cooperation and promoting the distinctive bilateral relations between the state of Kuwait and France. Kuwaiti-French higher committee of defense cooperation holds annually its sessions in Kuwait and France in order to promote the joint cooperation in defense fields. Major General Al-Othman held earlier during this five-day visit a meeting with French chief-of-staff Lieutenant General Jean-Louis Georgelin. Additionally, Major General Al-Othman held separate meetings with assistant director of exports of the directorate general of armaments at Defense ministry and assistant of the joint chief of staff on international relations, according to a report of KUNA.
