Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says the upcoming international conference on Yemen will focus on how to fight terrorism and improve the country"s deteriorating humanitarian situation, according to AP. The U.N. chief said today that the situation in Yemen has much broader regional implications for the global fight against terrorism. He said the United Nations is very concerned about the worsening humanitarian situation, noting that at least 150,000 Yemenis are displaced and need immediate support. Ban said he will attend the Jan. 27 conference, which will be held in London a day before an international conference on Afghanistan.
