Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received here today Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest in addition to the developments in the region. In a joint press conference following the meeting, Prince Saud said that the privileged treatment of Israel is the reason for not reaching solutions in the peace process, and urged the international community to stand firmly and seriously to put an end to the settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in Al-Quds City. In order to change Israel"s treatment, a specific proposal should be developed that specifies the fundamental issues: the borders, Al-Quds, refugees and other fundamental problems, and the parties should be called to negotiate, Prince Saud said. If they reach a result, this will be good. If, however, they do not reach a result, the case should go to the international court. This is the way of dealing with issues similar to the Palestinian cause, he added. Prince Saud stressed that Israel"s refusal of peace is not in its own interest, adding that Israel is the first to be threatened by the instability happening in the Middle East. Prince Saud described Israel as the "spoiled child" in the international community, where it does whatever it wants with no accountability or punishment. "When other countries violate international law, they receive punishment except Israel. If other countries commit war crimes, they receive punishment except Israel", he added. Prince Saud said "We are always optimistic and hope for the better. We hope that the international community will recognize its responsibility, because neglecting the issues will not solve them". --More
