Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, will patronize here tomorrow conference on Technology and Sustainability in the Built Environment, organized by the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, King Saud University. In a press conference held here today, the Director of King Saud University, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Othman said: it is an honor to the University that Prince Naif is to patronize this ceremony as he previously did, on several occasions. On his part, the Dean of Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Miqren said that organizing committee has received almost 400 proposed working papers, forwarded by 60 academic and professional institutions, from 42 Arab and foreign countries. The short list included 152 research, while 93 research were approved to be included in the final list of working papers, he added. On his part, the Chairman of scientific committee, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Husain said the terminology of sustainability in built environment has appeared, for the first time, in the last to decades only. It aims to design high efficient built in environment to rationalize consumption of energy and natural resources, he said. -- SPA
