Qatar"s total population by December 31st, 2009 exceeded 1,600,000 people, according to data released Friday by Qatar Statistics Authority, (QSA). The report explained that Qatar"s population until the last day of the year 2009 totaled 1,631,728 people, with an increase of 51,678 people against November"s statistics. These data represent the number of individuals at all age groups (Qataris and non-Qataris) present within the State boundaries on Thursday 31 December 2009, and do not include citizens and residents who were outside Qatar at the time of the statement. The total of males, according to these data reached 1,254,092 people, compared to 377,636 females, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).
