On behalf of Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, State Minister, Member of the Cabinet and President of the Court of the Council of Ministers and the Honorary Chairman of the Saudi Association of Languages and Translation; Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd, the Deputy President-General of Youth Welfare will inaugurate here tomorrow the 3rd conference on Languages and Translation under the banner of Translation and Arabization in Saudi Arabia at the venue of Conference and Continuous Education Building, of Imam Mohammed bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh. The 2-day Conference will tackle two main axis, the first axis is regarding Theoretical Theme (future vision), said Dr. Suleiman Abdullah Aba Al Khail, the Rector of IMAM University, which include the following: The role of translation in changing and enhancing image; Effect of translation in cultural interaction (exchange); Studying and analyzing translation policies in different organizations; Current state of databases and bibliographies of translated titles; Translating science vs. literature; The role of publishers in supporting translation projects; Critical studies and statistical analyses of translated titles. The practical theme (Description and Proposing Solutions) however, is mainly focused on the following: Studies of translations of the meanings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah; Training translators: organizations, problems, and solutions, Current status of translation centers and prices; Methods to improve the competency of translators, and Assessing quality of translation and compliance with standards and Reports on on-going translation projects.
