Ghana"s inflation rate will "definitely" fall in December and will continue to ease throughout next year, Central Bank Governor Kwesi Amissah-Arthur told Reuters on Friday. Year-on-year inflation in Ghana, which is set to become Africa"s latest oil producer in late 2010, fell to 16.92 percent in November, its fifth consecutive monthly fall. "Inflation is coming down and it will continue to come down in the next 12 months," said Amissah-Arthur, adding that the government was seeking to curb inflation by securing a guaranteed price agreement with the National Petroleum Authority to buffer the impact of any global oil price hikes.
