An explosion outside the home of Afghanistan"s former Vice President killed at least 5 people Tuesday, the country" President said. The explosion was near the Kabul home of former Vice President Ahmad Zia Massoud, Afghan President Hamid Karzai told reporters. The identities of those killed were not immediately available. There were conflicting reports on those injured in the blast. The Defense Ministry said 16 people, which included women and children, were rushed to a military hospital. Local radio reports said as many as 40 people were injured in the blast. The explosion broke windows in a hotel a few blocks away, CNN reported.
