Despite Republican opposition in Congress, U.S. President Barack Obama said Wednesday he still hopes for bipartisan support for his efforts to use financial rescue money to help small businesses and create jobs. "I am absolutely committed to working with anybody who is willing to do the job to make sure we rebuild our economy," Obama told reporters following a White House meeting with a group of congressional leaders from both political parties. Obama repeated his proposals for tax breaks for small businesses, more spending on transportation infrastructure, and incentives for people to make their homes more energy efficient. He also seeks to extend economic stimulus programs to keep unemployment benefits from expiring for millions of jobless Americans and to help unemployed workers keep their health insurance. --SPA
