A U.S. court says a former ambassador to the United Nations cannot be extradited to Bosnia. He denies stealing at least $600,000 of that government"s money, according to AP. The federal appeals court in Manhattan issued the ruling Wednesday about Muhamed Sacirbey, who grew up in Ohio and is a U.S. citizen. It said he has not been formally charged with a crime by a court with proper jurisdiction. A lower court judge had ordered Sacirbey sent to Bosnia despite his claims he would be mistreated there by enemies. Sacirbey has testified that he acted properly while he was ambassador to the United Nations for Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992 to 2000. His lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment. The prosecutor"s spokeswoman declined comment.
