The Health Service of Sukabumi district has declared 32 of the 47 sub districts (70 percent) in Sukabumi in Indonesia as dengue fever endemic areas, ANTARA News Agency reported. The Head of Contagious Disease Control Section of Sukabumi Health Service, Tejo Sriwijoyo, said that up to October this year a total of 593 people had suffered from dengue fever. But the figure is smaller than that in the same period a year earlier. "Up to October last year, the number of dengue sufferers had reached over 1,000 patients," Tejo said.
