A government spokesman says that the No. 2 of Guinea"s military junta that grabbed power in a coup last year returned to the country overnight. Sekouba Konate"s return Saturday helps fill a power vacuum after Capt. Moussa «Dadis» Camara, who led the coup, was airlifted to Morocco for emergency medical treatment after being shot by his aide-de-camp, according to a report of The Associated Press. Spokesman Idrissa Cherif says that the vice president returned to Conakry on a flight from Lebanon in the early hours of Saturday. Witnesses said that some 400 soldiers had gone out to secure the airport for his arrival.
