The First Forum for Arab Festivals, hosted by Lebanon, today concluded its deliberations in the presence of Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who is also the forum's guest of honor. During the meeting, the conferees discussed ways of promoting the mechanism of transferring the festivals into an effective tool in the cultural, economic and social sustainable development, building new concepts that enhance cultural exchange and encourage tourism and feeling of civilizational belonging and upgrading cultural level in the society. The conference also tackled ways of enhancing Arab cooperation in planning and coordination and benefiting from European experience in organizing festivals. A number of cultural, information and touristy personalities also took part in the event. --SPA
