Authorities say a passenger boat has capsized after being hit by a small ferry in a river in northern Bangladesh, leaving at least 36 people dead. Local police official Anwar Hossain says rescuers recovered 36 bodies from the capsized boat on the Daira river in Kishoreganj district. The area is about 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of Dhaka. The Associated Press quoted Hossain as saying that the passenger boat was packed with more than 80 people. The ferry was not damaged and there were no casualties among its passengers.
