The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday said that cases of the swine flu appear to be declining throughout most of the United States. The CDC said that reports of swine flu illnesses were widespread in 43 states last week, down from 46 the week before. CDC officials also say reports have been increasing in a few states, including Maine and Hawaii. Though they said they are unsure whether the epidemic has hit its peak or not, CDC officials said the Thanksgiving holiday, which will gather groups of people and encourages travel, may change the slowdown of the illness.
